You are not hearing from God if…

- You are feeling condemned and accused of sins too great for grace to deal with. If you feel like you’ve failed God so badly that there is no hope for you, if you cannot gets your sins out our your mind, then you are listening to “the accuser.”
- You are thinking about doing something that violates the Bible’s clear teaching. If you think God is telling you to kill someone, stop and immediately seek professional help. If your feel God is leading you to desert your family, don’t do it. If you think God is telling you to break one of his commandments, then you are listening to the wrong voice.
- You are becoming more and more confused. The more pressure you feel to make a decision immediately the less likely that you’re hearing from God. (Unless your house is on fire and you should not need to pray about what to do then.) If you feel as though you cannot discern between the truth and a lie, then you are not listening to God.
- You feel trapped. If you think there is no other way to go, if you feel forced to make a particular decision, then you are not hearing from God.
Tomorrow I’ll share the 4 Signs that You ARE Hearing from God.
PRAYER SUGGESTION FOR TODAY:
